Vodcasting techniques

  • Use a microphone (don't rely on the built-in Mac mic)
  • Try to separately record your voice
  • If the volume of your voice is too low, copy and paste your voice overs and stack it up
  • Review your footage and take notes to speed things up
  • does not have to be formal (allowed to crack some jokes)
  • assembling footage
    • best way to import footage into FCPX (drag and drop on the event)
    • favourite tool (Select the range of clips to review later)
  • always illustrate what you're saying (visual materials on screen)
  • add titles to highlight what you're verbally saying (chapter style)
  • comment on the different shot variety
  • give a clear credit
  • make use of folly where appropriate
